During this season of giving, we are reminded that a simple gesture can make a huge impact on someone's life.

Our KNX Hero of the Week did just that, changing the life of an Orange County resident.

"He's my friend. I love him. He's always my hero, I love him so much!"

Those are the cries of gratitude from Lorenzo Igayac.

He's an energetic, sweet-hearted man who was born with special needs.

Every day, Lorenzo rides his bike to the 24 Hour Fitness in Buena Park, where he's considered "family" by members and staff.

One day, Lorenzo's bike was stolen, and his world came crashing down.

"I was coming out of my office, and all of a sudden I saw Lorenzo coming in frantically, and in tears, shouting out that his bike was stolen," says Anthony Badalian, General Manager of the 24 Hour Fitness in Buena Park.

He says it was heartbreaking.

"For someone [who] commutes solely on his bike, that bike's extremely important to him."

Lorenzo's mom, Jan agrees. "It was very upsetting. Because he really depends on his bike, it's his independence."

Without hesitation, Anthony jumped into action. "I just automatically knew [that] I had to help him out. Especially because something like this happened to me not too long ago. I knew the amount of depression I went through, and the sadness that clouded my mind and my emotions," says Anthony. "I just knew it was a chance for me to help this young man out."

Anthony helped get Lorenzo a brand-new, custom-made bike from a local bike shop.

He unveiled it a few days later, to Lorenzo's surprise.

"Totally stunned!" exclaims Lorenzo. "I never [knew that] they were going to do that for me."

"It makes me feel really good," says Anthony. "I mean, I'm kind of tearing up, just seeing Lorenzo and the impact I was able to make in his life. I love him very dearly, he's a part of my life and my family, and Team 24."

"We just care about him a lot. I care about him a lot."

During my interview, Lorenzo abruptly jumped up, and embraced Anthony with one of the biggest hugs I've ever seen.

"I'm very fortunate to have Anthony there for us," says Lorenzo, wiping away tears. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome buddy, you're welcome pal," replies Anthony.

"You're the best thing in my life!" exclaims Lorenzo.

A simple gesture, that meant so much.
