Firefighters are working to put out a house fire in Upland that was apparently caused by a small aircraft crash.

It happened this morning on West 15th Street.

A Cirrus SR22 single-engine plane taking off from Cable Airport crashed into a home in a neighborhood in Upland. The pilot was killed.

The family escaped unharmed.

NTSB will investigate the crash.

Casey Muldoon tells KNX he was driving and saw a small plane go down into a home. He says he then drove up to it.

Officials say everyone in the home is safe but there's no word yet on the pilot.

It looks like firefighters put out the flames but are working on hotspots.
