Josh Campbell is an author, a law enforcement analyst with CNN, a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent, and Special Assistant to former FBI Director James Comey.

Campbell sat down with In-Depth hosts Mike Simpson and Charles Feldman to talk about his new book, "Crossfire Hurricane: Inside Donald Trump's War on the FBI."

Campbell who served in the FBI for 12 years conducting terrorism and kidnapping investigations tells KNX he was in the room for President Trump's first briefing after the elections.

He says he and the team flew to New York to explain to the president the information the FBI had on Russia's role in meddling in the elections, and also to make sure that he understood that there were rumors that Russia was circulating compromising information about him. The interpretation of the intent of that meeting is different, according to Campbell, between Comey and Trump, and may lead to a better understanding of the rift between the two men that ended with Comey being fired by the president.
