Starting Thursday and spilling into Friday, a cluster of small earthquakes have been rattling Ventura.

About 4-miles west of Ventura at around 4:00 a.m. Friday, a magnitude-3.5 struck. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was felt in Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Oak View, Santa Paula and Carpinteria in Santa Barbara County. About an hour and a half later, in the same region, a swarm of quakes struck on Thursday.

 There was a 50th small quake just before 7:00 a.m. Friday, and a small 1.6 quake at 8:30 a.m.

Geophysicist John Bellini says he doesn't see anything alarming, and nothing about the swarms suggests a bigger quake is eminent.
