As far as accidents go, the intersection at Sepulveda and Sherman Way in Van Nuys is the most dangerous intersection in Los Angeles.

That's according to data crunched and a story in Crosstown LA.

Crosstown LA is a non-profit news organization that covers LA neighborhoods through data, and based out of the USC Annenberg School for Journalism.

There were 47 accidents there last year, according to the story by Crosstown reporter Ethan Ward.

Out of the top 20 intersections with the most collisions, Van Nuys has six of the worst intersections. Thse intersections alone accounted for 195 collisions last year.

The Crosstown LA story shows a graphic for the top intersections with the most collisions. For example, Manchester Avenue and Figueroa Street in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood comes in at No. 2 with more than 40 accidents, and Burbank Boulevard and Sepulveda in Van Nuys clocks in at No. 3 with 40 accidents.

The study looked at data ranging from Jan. 1-Dec. 31 of last year.

The story writes, "Four out of the six Van Nuys intersections with the most traffic collisions are part of the High Injury Network. Valley Glen, Northridge and Panorama City also had more than one intersection show up in the top 20 most dangerous intersections."

High Injury Network means streets where the most traffic collisions occur.
