It's Day 2 of the big yard sale at the Tarzana home of singer Chris Brown Thursday and he's claiming that the police and city of LA tried to kill the event even before it began.

TMZ executive producer Harvey Levin tells KNX that he's been talking with Chris's camp, saying the LAPD came out saying he needed a permit for a yard sale.

"Well, the reality is you do not need a permit in LA. We called up the LAPD and they said "uh uh it wasn't us who said, it was building and safety who said. So we called up building and safety and they said 'we did not tell him that.'"

He says a code enforcement officer spent an hour and a half at the home on the night before the sale spelling out the dos and don'ts of yard sales. The singer and his advisors believe he's being harassed.

Beginning Wednesday, singer Chris Brown opened up his Tarzana home for a...yard sale.

The sale starts at 10 a.m. each day.

One customer came out of the house with a few bags of items Wednesday and was mobbed by reporters.

It'll be a two day event, offering marked down, high-end products and items for sale.

The yard sale will go on til 7 p.m. and the address is 19602 Citrus Ridge Drive.
