The Los Angeles Fire Department is on the scene with the Ventura County Fire Department as a fast-moving brush fire they're calling the "Shirley Fire," is blazing about a half-acre uphill with one home threatened.

The fire,  centered at 255 W. Box Canyon Road in the "Santa Susana Mutual Threat Zone" near Chatsworth, is at approximately 25 acres. It is in mixed rocky, steep terrain which makes ground access challenging. However, firefighters are making good progress and the helicopters are hitting it hard from the sky.
