There's was brush fire burning Tuesday afternoon in Mission Hills.

Firefighters have stopped the progress of the five acres of brush fire burning near a home. LA City Fire's Margaret Stewart tells KNX 1070 News that it looks like the fire started more than an hour ago on west Mission Hills Road following a transformer explosion.

She says some downed power lines were reported in the area too.

It's in 15001 W Mission Hills Road and is approximately 5 acres, in trees and medium brush with very little wind, heading to the west with one building exposed, according to the LAFD Twitter on Tuesday.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department online, "This incident was initially called in as an explosion which, at this time, is believed to be a transformer and on scene reports indicate downed power lines."
