Stars, Global Citizen founder outline massive 2020 concert

NEW YORK (AP) — The founder of New York's Global Citizen Festival has announced plans for a massive 10-hour concert in 2020.

Hugh Evans enlisted stars including Usher, Hugh Jackman and Pharrell to announce a yearlong campaign to produce the Global Goal Live: The Possible Dream shows on Sept. 26, 2020. Evans says the shows will span five continents.

Performers will include Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Miley Cyrus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and more. It will be broadcast live from New York, Lagos, Nigeria and other cities in Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The Global Citizen Festival is taking place Saturday in New York's Central Park. MSNBC will simulcast the festival, and iHeartMedia will broadcast the festival on radio.

Jackman and his wife Deborra-lee Furness will co-host this weekend's festival.
