The Carnival Glory was trying to dock and crashed into its sister ship, Carnival Legend. The collision happened as the Carnival Glory was maneuvering to the dock, the stern of the Glory was struck by the bow of the Legend.

The Carnival Glory was based in New Orleans and left the city on Dec. 15. It was scheduled to return on Dec. 22.

The cruise ship reaches 952 feet in length and can hold 2,980 passengers.

"We are assessing the damage but there are no issues that impact the seaworthiness of either ship," Carnival said in a released statement. "We have advised guests from both ships to enjoy their day ashore in Cozumel."

The company confirmed that one passenger was injured as the ship attempted to evacuate the dining room on Decks 3 and 4.
